Route: US 54 to Alamogordo, fuel stop at the Maverick Truck Stop, and breakfast at the IHOP, Then to Hwy 70 to Las Cruces, left on I-25 to I-10 west, exit Ave De Mesilla, pit stop at Shorties.  End of ride

Highway 70 from Las Cruces to Alamogordo was completed in 1938 and runs across southern New Mexico, from Lordsburg east to Las Cruces along I-10, and northward to Alamogordo, Roswell and Clovis. We will be passing White Sands National Park which covers 275 square miles (about the area of Austin, Texas) with an ocean of white, gypsum dunes—the largest gypsum dune field in the world
